Founder, GreenJams

Tarun Jami is the visionary founder of GreenJams, a pioneering cleantech startup in Vishakhapatnam, India, that is revolutionizing the construction industry with carbon-negative building materials. With a background in civil engineering and environmental science, Tarun developed the world’s strongest hempcrete technology, which led to the creation of Agrocrete®—a sustainable building material made from agricultural residues and industrial by-products.

GreenJams, under Tarun’s leadership, addresses two major global challenges: reducing the 45% carbon emissions from construction and mitigating the impact of 2 billion tonnes of crop waste burned annually in India. Agrocrete® cuts construction costs by 50% and enhances thermal insulation, making buildings more energy-efficient.

Ambitiously, GreenJams aims to cover 1 billion square feet of built-up area with Agrocrete® by 2025 and capture 10% of the global bricks and blocks market, ultimately tackling 10% of global carbon emissions. Tarun’s work has earned him accolades, including being named to Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia and receiving the INK Fellowship. GreenJams continues to forge partnerships with industry giants, significantly reducing air pollution by preventing crop residue burning across India.
