Chitra is the original creator and managing director of BIOME Environmental Solutions, a diverse team of 30 professionals engaged in the realm of ecological architecture and innovative water and waste solutions located in Bangalore, India.
Coming from an artistic lineage, with a father who is a sculptor/academician and a mother who is a homemaker, Chitra’s educational journey began in Banaras. Her family’s relocation to Nigeria in 1977 led her to pursue a Civil Engineering Diploma at Auchi Polytechnic.
In 1990, after completing her studies at the School of Architecture CEPT India, Chitra initiated her architectural enterprise in Bangalore, marking the commencement of a fortuitous journey. At Biome, the aim has been to seamlessly fuse challenges encompassing materials, ecology, and requisites into holistic ecosystem designs.
Chitra’s involvement in education and design workshops is notable. She orchestrated a design workshop at Archiprix 2017 in CEPT Ahmedabad and held the Charles Correa Academic chair at Goa College of Architecture in 2018. Presently, she serves as a design mentor at NITTE Mangalore since 2019. Her recent educational endeavors encompass leading the Monsoon semester at the School of Architecture CEPT Ahmedabad in both 2020 and 2021.
Noteworthy highlights in her career include her role as a juror at the 2A Continental Architectural Awards in Madrid 2019, participation as a judge at the Asia Edition of YTAA 2020 conducted by Fundacio Mies Van Der Rohe Barcelona, contribution as a judge at the D&AD and Dezeen awards.
Sundar Chandramouli is currently Vice President – special projects in the Kempegowda International Airport, Bengaluru. As part of the team that delivered the recent INR 13,000 Crore expansion programme and involved in further expansions, Sundar continues to drive innovation initiatives along with use of new technology sustainability and safety measures across the various projects of the expansion.
Sundar Chandramouli is a member of the Institution of Civil Engineers (UK) and a chartered engineer since 2002. Earning a Bachelor’s Degree in civil engineering from Bangalore and a Master’s Degree from the University of Kentucky, he began his career in the US and worked with the world’s leading Companies as project management consultant, contractor and client roles before returning to Bangalore to work with BIAL on the expansion of the Kempegowda International Airport.

With a background in civil engineering and environmental science, Tarun developed the world’s strongest hempcrete technology, which led to the creation of Agrocrete®—a sustainable building material made from agricultural residues and industrial by-products.

Prakash joined Kalpataru Group in 2017 as part of Group Strategy within Group Chairman’s Office. He drives works around strategy, cost optimization, value engineering and digital initiatives. He is also leading the in-house VC arm which focuses on collaboration and investment in start-ups working within construction and infrastructure domains.
Prior to Kalpataru, Prakash was working with McKinsey & Co. as Practice Specialist in Capital Projects and Infrastructure Practice. He has served clients in 20+ countries within areas of Strategy formulation, Organisation Re-structuring, M&A, Digital in Construction & Time and Cost turn-around of mega and large projects etc.
Overall Prakash has 20+ years of experience in Infrastructure Space. Prakash earned his Gold Medal in Civil Engineering from NIT, Nagpur in 2004. He also has earned multiple certifications from the Wharton School, IIM- Ahmedabad, IIM Calcutta and RPC, UK.

Keshav Sharma, an engineer & the CEO/Founder of Augrade is training physics based AI models that convert 2D building blueprints into building code-compliant 3D CAD designs along with cost analysis & documentation, enabling Concept to Construction within days.
He is an EV & O’Shaughnessy grant winner, has previously scaled an AI assistant for Healthcare during COVID-19 & also built AR/VR devices for better design interaction amongst other such endeavours.

Dr. Nikhil Bugalia is currently working as an Assistant Professor in the Construction Management group at IIT Madras. His primary research focuses on understanding the interactions between technical, human, and organizational issues in safety management in the construction sector.
More broadly, Dr. Nikhil’s work focuses on applying systems thinking on various complex construction industry issues. At IIT Madras, he has been exploring applications of technologies such as AI/ML, and VR for their applications in the construction.
Dr. Nikhil obtained his Ph.D. degree from the University of Tokyo, Japan, working on the Safety Management of the Japanese High-Speed Railway. He also obtained his bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from IIT Kanpur. Professor Fischer’s research goals are to improve the productivity of project teams involved in designing, building, and operating facilities and to enhance the sustainability of the built environment. His work develops the theoretical foundations and applications for virtual design and construction (VDC).
VDC methods support the design of a facility and its delivery process and help reduce costs and maximize the value over its lifecycle. His research has been used by many small and large industrial government organizations around the world.

Manoj is part of the vConstruct leadership team and is leading the DSA (Data Science and Analytics) team. He is playing a leadership role in defining the AI/ML strategy for vConstruct and mentoring the team on some important AI/ML solutions developed by vConstruct.
Manoj also leads operations and is responsible for HR, Recruitment, IT, Marketing, and SEZ operations. He provides mentorship to the Finance and accounting and Software development groups and leads some of the key strategic initiatives at vConstruct.
Manoj has 30 years of experience working across the US, Europe, and APAC regions. He has over 20 years of experience in senior leadership positions in various organizations. Vivin Hegde is the Founding and Managing Partner at Zacua Ventures, a global venture capital firm with a focus on the Built Environment. He works extensively with early-stage startups and corporates in this space and is on several Boards and advisory teams. With a career spanning two decades, both as an operator and as an investor, he has been deeply immersed in the construction technology space.
Before Zacua, Vivin held several key roles at Hilti, Trimble and McKinsey, including being the General Manager of Hilti-Trimble JV that works on development and productization of new technologies around Positioning, Robotics, IoT and AR/ VR. Prior to that he had set up and led Hilti’s Corporate Venturing arm in North America and led their Sales and Strategy teams across the years.
He is a Mechanical Engineer from NITK Surathkal and did his MBA from IIM Calcutta. Outside of his professional achievements, he enjoys traveling, hiking, and playing cricket.
Atul Khanzode has been instrumental in the successful growth of DPR Construction, working on projects and with project teams throughout his career and helping improve business through his leadership in Building Information Modeling (BIM), Virtual Design and Construction (VDC), and Lean. As a member of the Leadership Team, he dedicates his efforts to making DPR’s strategies around VDC, data, prefab and SPW successful—leveraging the very best of DPR to build great things for the future.
Atul collaborates with academia and research groups around the world to move our industry forward in the use of technologies to improve project delivery processes. Atul has shared his insights on the impact of Virtual Design and Construction (VDC), lean construction and integration of project delivery process at various forums around the world and is a co-author of the book titled “Integrating Project Delivery.”
Kalyan is currently the Director of Business Development, Bentley Systems. He has nearly 25 years of combined experience in managing construction projects and enterprise software development, has won many awards and has published widely.
Prior to Bentley, he was the co-founder and CEO of Nadhi Information Technologies Pvt. Ltd., an IIT Madras Research Park incubated company that was recently acquired by Bentley.
He won the 2015 Technologist Innovator award from the Construction Industry Development Council, Government of India. Earlier, he was named Entrepreneur of the Year 2014 by CII, Chennai. Recently, he co-authored a chapter on “Cloud-based Collaboration and Project Management” in the Construction 4.0 book.
He holds an M.S. in Structural Engineering from Cornell University and is a Governor’s Gold Medalist with a B. Tech in Civil Engineering from IIT Madras.
Dr. Ashwin Mahalingam joined the faculty in the Building Technology and Construction Management division of the Civil engineering department at IIT-Madras in 2006. Ashwin received his B.Tech in Civil engineering from IIT-Madras and then proceeded to Stanford University for a Masters in Construction Engineering and Management. He then helped start up an internet based company in the USA called All Star Fleet, aimed at providing asset management services for construction companies. Following this he returned to Stanford University to pursue a PhD in the area of Infrastructure Project Management.
Ashwin’s research interests are in the areas of Public Private Partnerships (PPP) in Infrastructure planning and management, the management and governance of large engineering projects and the use of technology in infrastructure development. Ashwin is also a co-founder of Okapi Advisory Services Pvt. Ltd and serves as a Director on the Board. He is the Editor of the Engineering Project Organization Journal (EPOJ) and has served on many national committees.
